The Ride100percent Mini Downhill in January 2024 kicked off the year with a bang, featuring an over-subscribed race and a buzzing atmosphere. New bikes, fresh kit, and teams descended upon the classic Forest of Dean Downhill track, creating an electric start to the season.

With over 220 under-16 participants, the future of downhill racing in the UK looks incredibly promising. The excitement peaked as racers navigated the challenging course, with the younger riders showcasing their talent.

Adam Harris, a Master category racer, set the quickest time of the day, while Pro-Am rider Tomas Elsinore secured an impressive 2nd place overall. Veteran Luke Marshal claimed the 3rd spot, and Junior Oli Poulter and Youth James Weeks delivered outstanding performances.

The event featured some incredible female riders, with Mary Lynes, Sienna Paul, Katie Allsop, Lucy Allsop, and Ida Martin dominating their respective categories.

Perfect weather allowed riders two runs on a reasonably dry track, with some navigating the infamous root section during practice. The race itself was a thrilling spectacle, captivating the numerous spectators who turned out to watch.

The podium celebrations at Peddleabikeaway Cafe saw the top three in each category receiving prizes from Ride 100 percent, along with Google’s, gloves, and free uplift day trophies courtesy of Flyup Downhill. The riders are now eagerly anticipating the February race, where they stand a chance to win an @atlasride Holiday prize in a draw.
