कुरजाँ एक प्रवासी पक्षी है जो प्रजनन के लिए हर वर्ष साइबेरिया की तरफ से उड़कर सर्दी के मौसम में राजस्थान आता है, यह उन चुनिंदा पक्षियों में से एक है जो महान हिमालय को हर वर्ष दो बार पार करते है।
राजस्थान के लोगों के लिए यह मेहमान है और वो इतना प्यार करते हैं कि गीतों में भी इसका जिक्र है।
यहां एक महिला कुरजाँ से प्रार्थना करती है कि वह उसके प्रियतम तक उसका संदेश पहुंचाए और उसको घर वापस लाए क्योंकि कुरजाँ ही राजस्थान का वह पक्षी है जो पहाड़ और समन्दर पार करके कितनी ही दूर जा सकता है।

Kurjan is a migratory bird with comes to Rajasthan in winter fro breeding. It comes from northern cold countries and is one of the birds who crosses mighty Himalayas.

In Rajasthan, this bird is considered as a guest and people serve them with whatever they have. It is old tradition. This women wants to send message to her husband to come home with Kurjan, because Kurjan can fly over the mountains and sea. She believes that Kurjan can reach to her husband and can tell her pain to him, So she addresses Kurjan as Her Sister.
