How To Start PS5 In Safe Mode

When you're trying to troubleshoot a problem or for whatever reason, here's how to start or restart your PS5 in safe mode.

PS5 In Safe Mode:
Shut down PS5 if it's on
Press and hold the power button until you hear second beep
The PS5 will boot in safe mode
Connect the controller to the console via the original USB-C cable
This will give you controls to the PS5 Safe mode menu

To exit safe mode, choose 'Restart PS5'.

PS5 Safe Mode Options:
Restart PS5. Ends Safe Mode and restarts the PS5 console normally.
Change Video Output.
Update System Software.
Restore Default Settings.
Clear Cache and Rebuild Database.
Reset PS5.
Reset PS5 (Reinstall System Software)
