Our Founder
Patsy Charles founded the Dallas Skin Institute in 2002, after seeing many clients to correct their permanent make-up application, she saw a need for quality classes that not only show technique but also teach the science of color mixing. She is an innovator in both the training of students in the cosmetic and skin care industry and in developing the trademarked product lines: Ooh-la-lash and DSI Cosmedics. These lines tailor the needs of people in the industry, refined with over thirteen years of experience.

She received her cosmetology license in 1999, her permanent make-up certification in 2001, advanced make-up artistry in 2002 and became an instructor in 2004. Patsy is dedicated to her students and it shows in that she is known to take calls from students needing advice while she is out and will invite them to see her demos so they can get more motivation. She has also given up her private practice so that she does not compete with the students that she has certified and can truly dedicate her practice to their success.

Workshops will teach you the fundamentals and provide you with valuable information about marketing strategies to kick start your career. Instructors teach you theory followed by hands-on training so you master the skills to offer services to your clients. When you complete the course, you will receive certification and will be ready to immediately apply your knowledge and experience to your new and existing clients.

Ooh-la-lash Eyelash Extension Application Clinic

This one-day class will give you all the skills and tools you need to start a career in the lucrative industry of eyelash extension application. The eyelash extension training class starts with eyelash application theory and technique and then, after you've mastered practicing application on a mannequin, you will apply lashes on a live model with guidelines for safety and sanitation under Texas Department of State Health Services standards. During this one-day course you will learn effective application techniques, the intricacies of eye shape and lash growth, different styles of eyelash application, utilization of various sizes and lengths in eyelash extensions, lash theory and proper product usage, lash interchanging, fills and lash extension removal, mistake correction and more.

Tuition is $799 and includes an Eyelash Extension Kit with enough products to do up to forty lash applications. A certificate that can be displayed in your business for your clients will be awarded upon completion of the course and passing of the final exam.

Applicant must hold a current license in the health or beauty industry or be registered in an accredited school and studying to become licensed in the health or beauty industry. It is important that you check with your state's health and compliance code.
