*Two impatient and good hearted cowboy badasses who were originally members of a group of criminals and found them to be kind of their new family (The Syndicate and Dutch's gang)
*They fall in love with one of its members and later intend to leave this group with them. This goes wrong for both
*The two go on a killing spree of their respective groups to avenge the deaths of someone very close to them (Julia and Arthur). This leads them to confront and shoot a betrayer once former ally to death (Vicious and Micah)
*Both struggle with escaping from their past and its mistakes. In the end they face it head on alone, only to find themselves collapsing on the ground dead in front of their enemies
*Both are quick skilled gun wielders who roam around meeting new people, embarking on different quests and adventures, and hunt bad guys wanted by the law
*Both of their faces have been damaged (Spike's eye being a fake while John has scars)
*Interestingly enough both have shown to be skeptical of technology from opposite time periods(?) John dismisses new tech while Spike ain't a fan of old
