The 400m hurdles or sometimes known as the long hurdles, 4 hurdles or the man killer event of Track and Field athletics as the 400-metre hurdle race is one of the most demanding of all events. It requires speed, endurance, and hurdling technique all along with unique awareness and special concentration throughout the race thence it is one of the most draining events physically and mentally in athletics. However, some athletes prefer the 400m hurdles over the 400m because the hurdles help give them a target around the track.

This event involves sprinting 1 lap of the track and hurdling 10 hurdles. The mens height is at 0.91cm while the women height is 76.20 cm.
