Columbus Ohio Police Academy Graduation Ceremony, January 4, 2019

The City of Columbus Ohio holds it's 130th Police Recruit Class Graduation Ceremony at the Columbus Police Academy, on January 4th, 2019. All graduates completed 29 weeks of training that began on Monday, June 18th, 2018. This class was comprised of 56 officers and one firefighter. 42 officers will be joining the Columbus Police force and 8 officers will be joining other local agencies. The breakdown is as follows: Columbus Fire - 1, Dublin - 2, Grove City - 3, Hilliard - 4, Newark - 2, New Albany - 1, Westerville - 1, and Worthington -1. Some interesting facts include: This class had the 3rd highest CPOTA score in CPD history, 3 recruits are following in their father's footsteps, 1 recruit is a chiropractor, 1 recruit is a Naval Reserve Chaplain and 55 years old, and 1 recruit has 10 children.
