On Memorial Day, 1988, the New York Mets were set to take on the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday Night Baseball on ABC. However, after a 34-minute rain delay, ABC did the unthinkable, in a move that made no sense considering the circumstances, and in a move that ticked off just about every Mets fan in New York, and the Mets organization themselves.
