Aghanjar Mahadev Mandir | Gupteshwar Mahadev | Khanyara | Dharamshala | Himachal | Shiv Temple

In this video, we have visited Aghanjar Mahadev Mandir and Gupteshwar Mahadev. These are located quite close to each other, separated by few stairs only. This temple is located in Khanyara, Himachal just 7-9 km from Dharamshala. During Mahabharat, Arjun did penance here to please Lord Shiva. Shiva blessed him with Pashupatastra after completion of penance. Aghanjar means Destroyer of Sins or Lord Shiva. Gupteshwar Shivling is hidden ('Gupt') underneath a huge rock, hence the name. During Maharaja Ranjit Singh Rule, Baba Ganga Bharti Ji used to live here and established a 'Dhoona' which is still burning (from 600 years). Baba Ji cured Maharaja's stomach problem and did miracles. People started thronging this place for the cure of their ailments. Not wanting to interfere in nature's actions Baba Ji took Living Smadhi.
This place is situated in the lap of Dhauladhars and has a calm, serene and positive environment.
