Introduction to Pawpaw North Americas Largest Native Fruit is a recording of a presentation I gave at the 2024 Pawpaw Festival in Paw Paw, WV. It covers what a pawpaw is, the history of pawpaws, the flavor texture and color of pawpaws, explains the flowers and how it uses the fetid flowers and exudates to attract unusual pollinators. I also cover propagation techniques like growing from seed, grafting, suckers, hardwood and softwood cuttings. The presentation also covers how to plant pawpaw trees, some of the common bugs, pests, diseases, and issues with pawpaw trees as well as Acetogenins. We finish by showing some of the books out there on pawpaws and provide a list of the 15 pawpaw festivals going on in 2024.
