Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh (Kerryman, Teacher, GAA Commentator) joined us for State of the Nation at the Pepper Canister Church in September 2013.

Born in 1930, Mícheál worked as a teacher at both the primary and secondary levels and as a political correspondent and presenter with Raidio Na Gaeltachta. According to the Guinness Book of Records, he set a world record for his length of time as sports commentator with RTE and RNG from 1949 to 2010. Mícheál is married to Helena. They have eight children - four in Ireland and the others in neighboring parishes from Singapore to London.
