DANIEL McKENNA: Moving to Wolves, Captaining Ireland and Balancing Work with Football

Описание к видео DANIEL McKENNA: Moving to Wolves, Captaining Ireland and Balancing Work with Football

Joining me today is Athlone Town midfielder Daniel McKenna.

Daniel has had an impressive and interesting football journey to lead him to where he is now.

Having grown up in inner city Dublin and playing for Belvedere from the age of 5, he joined Wolves at 15 years old, moving away from his family after his Junior Cert exams.

He captained Ireland the whole way up through the underage ranks, competing against the likes of Rafael Leao, Cody Gakpo and Alexander Isak.

Daniel moved back to Ireland in 2019, signing with Shelbourne, and has since played at Warrenpoint and now Athlone.

On his return to Ireland, he started a degree in Accounting and Finance and discusses his experience now of working and playing football at the same time.
