Georges Brassens - Trompettes de la renommée english subtitles

Описание к видео Georges Brassens - Trompettes de la renommée english subtitles

Recorded at Bobino in 1972, Brassens sings what is probably his most outrageous and shocking song, piling one verse after another all his arguments for not responding to repeated requests to give details about his private life and gain more public attention.
Written in 1962, ten years after appearing on public stage, Brassens answers to those who advised him to 'cheer up' his image in the new 'swinging 60's' period by offering spicy details on his privacy to the press. It would be nasty for him and for the people sharing his life. He won't play the squalid and self-destructive role others would have him to do. He will stay himself and mocks that 'get famous by showing your butt' attitude.

Note: My intention is to share with others who are not fluent french-speakers my love of Brassens' works. It's hard to find accurate translation for some sentences since he uses very figurative expressions with double-meaning, passing easily from very refined style to the dirtiest slang words. I had to do choices, being French, non native english speaker, and therefore not able to handle both languages with the same ability, I worked my best to find similar sentences in english to keep the specific 'colour' of Brassens' sentences. I hope you will enjoy it. If so, I will provide you other translations for his songs.
