Fixed! EPC light on 2012 Volkswagen Jetta. The other conditions met to get to this stage of fix are: having replaced all 4 ABS speed sensors, verified good power and ground reaching the ABS Module, along with EPC light on is the ABS/Brake lights on, engine dies on "R" reverse.

After the module fix, the EPC went away and car now runs fine with the ABS light on -- with all ABS sensors replaced, scanner shows rt front and left rear ABS sensors not working, next to check would be the harnesses of those two.
