Avant de prendre le warning, le n°2 mondial avait discuté pendant longtemps avec Mohamed Lahyani, le suppliant d'aller voir la trace (les arbitres n'ont plus le droit d'aller vérifier une marque avec le système) : « La machine ne marche pas. Va voir la marque s'il te plaît. Ne change pas l'annonce, mais je t'en supplie, juste pour moi, va la voir. [...] Il y a une erreur dans le système car la balle est ça dehors. »
