Scott McGill "The Chord Book" for Guitar: Dominant 7th voicings on the 1256 string set on Bb

Описание к видео Scott McGill "The Chord Book" for Guitar: Dominant 7th voicings on the 1256 string set on Bb

This video covers the Dominant 7th type chord voicings up to the 13th with no alterations on the 1256 string family on "Bb". The basic related harmonies are the F Minor 7th, Ab Major 7th, and D Min 7 b5 noting the relative relationships from these chords along with some various relationships possible to produce an unaltered Dom. 7 sound.

This string set is more unusual and yields a wide variety of voicings which can promote sounds with larger intervals much like a "quartet" or Soprano-Alto-Tenor-Bass (SATB) type sound and due to this each individual voice can stand out clearly as the space between chord tones is on the whole greater.

This "string quartet" sounding chord family is related to the traditional R357 type voicing arrangement but through string transference of the notes on the E strings is voiced R573 like a traditional adjacent string chord family. Those are just the starting points for a great many interesting voicings and voice motion on this chord family string set.

More closed voicings that are available are also presented and this set lends itself to fingerstyle, hybrid, and plectrum-style approaches. This string set can yield chords which sound very "big", clear, and resonant and can be challenging for the development of advanced fretting-hand technique.

This video series on Guitar Chords covers the concept of Four String Groups for Chords with no doublings. A complete study which will cover Major 7th type, Min7th type, Dominant 7th type, Altered Dominant 7th type , and Diminished 7th type chords with an introduction to voicings on the Augmented Scale/Six Tone Symmetrical Scale as well.

This study will be an extended series of video demonstrations that will help one master all the essential chord types on the Guitar far past the basic inversions of seventh chords, develop the ear, uncover a range of new chord spacings and a wide range of voicings with many unique voice leading possibilities, and develop technical control of the Guitar for writing and performance. Jazz, Fusion, and Classical players will find this useful and the applications to Solo Guitar, Composition, and Group Performance are limitless.

"The Chord Book" represents a unique new systematic study and not a random unorganised series of voicing examples based on stock patterns. Learn and master Guitar chords in a logical organised way.
