A one night stand places Pte Marc Andrews on the wrong side of the law. Both he and the carefree Molly have a lot of explaining to do as the consequences of their actions become clear. Now they must pull together to prove their "suitability" to the Department of Health and Families. The life of their unborn child depends on it.

Resources are scarce and the world cannot support an uncontrolled population. The international community take drastic steps to regulate the number of births each year. Operating under a quota system the government task the Department of Health and Families with assessing all applications to become parents. The law states that pregnancies must be authorised, anyone in breach of this is sent to the Assessment Unit. Marc and Molly are under scrutiny, watched at all times. Will they pass the assessment and be allowed to keep their baby?
