Lashana Lynch, known for her roles in Captain Marvel and Still Star Crossed, is set to hit the big screen again soon in the upcoming James Bond film, No Time to Die, the release of which has been twice delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

When it was leaked last year that Lynch would be playing the first Black, female 007 agent in No Time To Die - a role that was confirmed in her recent Harper's Bazaar cover shoot - the actress experienced an unprecedented amount of backlash, vitriol and online trolling, causing her to delete her social media accounts for a week.

"I am one Black woman. If it was another Black woman cast in the role that I play in No Time To Die, then it would have been the same conversation; she would have had the same attacks, same abuse. So it's not personal to me. I just have to remind myself that the conversation is happening, and I'm part of something very, very revolutionary."

In the latest instalment of our Master the Art franchise, Lynch discusses dealing with criticism, tackling self-doubt and smashing stereotypes.
