Book 1: Chapter 3
She’s gone. And with her is Kulna’s light from his eyes. The hope, although false, has been replaced by cloudy skies. He cannot help but reminisce about her eyes and the way he pulled him from the troubles of the world. Kulna is convinced that this detachment was the very definition of pure joy.


But his angels have a different perspective. Their devotion is to Kulna and his fulfillment in this life and beyond. “Where is the light?” He asks? If he would only listen to his angels. Perhaps if they take on another form he would listen. Perhaps as his friends.

Why does he resist even his own friends’ advice? How is his judgement and perception so clouded? Where are his eyes? Why can he not see?

Their chants back to him are “Inta al diyaa” but what does this mean? Is Kulna more than what he perceives himself to be? And if that’s the case, who is he? Or what is he?
