In this episode of Cycling across North America, I bring you along for Day #9!

Leaving Red Bay, AL and only biking 14 miles to Tishomingo State Park in Mississippi I ran across several challenges. I figured out what road NOT to take into the state park, and had to do a little bushwhacking to get through the woods for a shortcut. After my arrival at Tishomingo State Park, I decided to go touring through the park and share the sights/sounds of the beautiful countryside.

While I was filming the state park, Jared and Jennifer Stanley of J&J Acres and Permasapien.com happen to be driving by, and I rode up to the front of the park to spend a little time with them (and shot a video for their YouTube Channel)! On my way to the front of the park (you might say I was in a hurry, and excited to see familiar faces) I broke one of the pedals while cycling up a hill. So, I used some JB Kwik Weld and Zip ties to repair the pedal until I got to a town where I could another.

I also rotated the bike tires (front to back and directional) so I get more miles/life out of them. I should get around 2500 miles out of these tires before they need replaced. I also share my reasoning on how to use CO2 effectively, and what do if you only have a small....limited supply of CO2 for your bike tires.
