“I want the audience to have to think. Yes, I want them to sit and witness something that can sit comfortably within their skin, but I want them to itch a little bit as it comes to a close. I want there to be an understanding that we as performers invited the audience to witness something that was personal, and that the fact that they were allowed to see it is a privilege and not a right. I want the stage to hold a glow after we leave, but it would be an empty glow. The stage should feel like it’s missing something once we’ve left.”- Cara Board.
Experimental extra footage from a dance piece called A Compelling (choreographed by Cara Board) from a concert that was going to be called A Misremembering, edited together to represent a whole new story to the piece. A misremembering of the piece itself and all of its core qualities, as you can see in editing and the translucence of various footage, and a misremembering of the piece with and without Joey, a dancer in the official stage performance footage but who filmed and edited a literal Misremembering.
