Responding to fraud risk

This video is based on a global survey of internal auditors, analyzes the profession's role in fraud risk management. Key findings reveal discrepancies between internal auditors' perceived responsibility for fraud detection and prevention and the actual emphasis placed on these activities in audit plans. The report also examines internal auditors' self-assessed capabilities and certifications related to fraud, highlighting a potential skills gap. Finally, it offers five recommendations for improving internal audit's approach to fraud risk, including clarifying roles, educating management, and proactively addressing risks. The study's data comes from the 2015 CBOK Global Internal Audit Practitioner Survey.
