Impassion - Polyphia Guitar Cover

My next Polyphia guitar cover is Impassion, the final piece off of their 2013 Inspire EP. The song that I think put Polyphia on the map among the guitar community.

Some crazy hard and well-constructed leads in this one. Everything about this song is deliberate, which made it that much more difficult to learn.

The final lead allowed me to tackle a picking style known as economy picking, which is sort of a cross between alternate picking and sweeping. It's a method of picking strings where you move directly toward the next note rather than maintaining a steady up and down alternate picking approach. I've been familiar with the technique for a long time but never really took the time to get it down. I find it really helps with certain passages that would sound more sloppy with straight alternate picking. I also found the lead at around 3:30 to be super-challenging. Technique-wise, it's straight alternate picking, but just the sheer speed and accuracy made it difficult to pull off. Very satisfying to get down though!
