So what's goin' on?

On older motherboards, you could simply set your PCI card as primary in BIOS and call it a day. But with modern AMI BIOS systems, that option is gone. Even worse, there's no direct way to choose which discrete GPU should be primary—especially if you're trying to run legacy OSes like Windows 98 or NT4.

I considered using a PCIe-to-PCI adapter to force the Voodoo into the top slot, but that defeats the purpose—I specifically chose a board with classic PCI slots. So instead, I went deep into BIOS modding territory using AMI's BCP tool (yep, the one manufacturers use) to unlock hidden settings and force the system to treat the PCI card as primary.
