At the 2024 BU Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener, four men dipped below the previous NCAA Indoor 3,000m record. Ethan Strand narrowly beat his teammate, Parker Wolfe, running 7:30.15 for the NEW NCAA Record.

Parker Wolfe (UNC) finishes second with his 7:30.23. Yaseen Abdalla (Arkansas) and Gary Martin (UVA) finish in third and fourth with times of 7:34.17 and 7:36.09, respectively.
