Lewis Wetzel was a scout, frontiersman and one of the most famous fighters of Indians to ever live.

Between 1777 and 1768, Lewis Wetzel claimed to have collected almost 30 scalps of Indians that he had battled; but other sources report that he had taken more than 100. Lewis Wetzel was viewed to some as a hero, to others, a crazed murderer.

Early in his life, he did much good to help and protect his family and community members but after his family was murdered, he developed a darker side, the side of “Death Wind” which is why he is regarded as a legend of the Wild West.
