Eivor travels to the Fairy Pools and encounters an old woman who wants to sacrifice her to the fairies. Eivor persuades her that a nearby shard has impacted her mind. The old woman thanks her and gives her the shard.

Eivor sails to the large island to the east of the Isle of Skye and assaults the Pict army at Arnish Deadlock.

Eivor discovers a note at a seaside villa describing how the owner was being terrorized by bandits trying to get his supplies. Eivor finds his dead body with a key and uses it to open his house to get the wealth inside.
