Polymer shapes (length and radius)

Описание к видео Polymer shapes (length and radius)

Polymers are often long chains of repeat units. A simple picture shows them lined up. What would the length be if it from end to end? We can calculate this length is we know the individual bond lengths, the number of bonds, and the bond angle. However, although bonding may favor lining up in crystalline fashion (to maximize secondary bonds between chains) entropy is fighting for the polymer to ball up in random directions. We can calculate the radius of the ball as well.
