Rogiet Parkrun Event #282 – Rain, Wind and a Tense Sprint Finish!

Rogiet PARKRUN! A mostly flat parkrun all on compacted fine hardcore surface. The run is located at Rogiet Countryside Park, Rogiet, Monmouthshire! This parkrun is all around the country park grounds which are nice and flat! Join me as I provide an in-depth review of the Rogiet Parkrun experience.

Rogiet parkrun three laps on predominantly compacted hardcore track within Rogiet Countryside Park which is situated on land between the railway lines and the M4. The start and finish are close to the main car park.

Buggies/prams are allowed at this parkrun, however, dogs are prohibited and there aren't any toilets near to the start! As the route is almost all compacted fine hardcore surface, road shoes are fine, however, during the winter months when the leaves have turned into mulch, I would reccomend trail shoes. In terms of how busy the parkrun is, it is a nice and quiet one so there isn't much congestion at the start of the run. There are on average 98 runners/joggers/walkers a week. With it being a flat parkrun and all on compacted fine hardcore surface, there is a chance for a PB, however, there are quicker courses!

The weather was not great on the day, rain, strong winds and a cool temperature. The atmosphere was great though and the volunteers made it a fun morning! This is the 49th parkrun I have recorded on the channel of which you can find a playlist of them below:

I will be doing parkruns all over the UK and rest of the world! Every Saturday I take part in a 5K run trying my hardest to get under 20 mins. Rogiet is a great run to tick off the "R" on the alphabeteer challenge and it is the second "R" I have done! Let me know if you have ever completed the course. Hope you enjoy the video.
