With homegrown roots in country and folk, Americana artist Sanna from California releases her debut album titled „Open Hearts“. Sanna has a vocal style as sweet as honey and her songs have the strength to touch the sweet spot of listeners’ souls. Every song on „Open Hearts“ was developed and recorded with the purpose to connect with individuals all over the world. With songs such as „Dogs“ and „Afterlife“ depicting discernment and consequences, „First Day of Spring“ and „California Pepper“ celebrating new chapters in life, „Falling“ and „Let It Be (Me)“ expressing the pain of unrequited love, the album „Open Hearts“ was written from a deeply vulnerable place. “I was overcome by the fear of opening myself up to people,” Sanna shares. “The idea of rejection and ridicule was paralyzing me. I had to decide whether to be honest about who I was and what I wanted, or to close myself off—to build a wall around my vulnerability and shut people out.” Sanna says that this message is what motivated her to publish this album. “I hope this album encourages listeners to overcome fear of rejection and to put their hearts on the line; to be brave. Because even though being transparent and vulnerable can be terrifying, the love that one can receive and share is worth the risk.”

Sanna and her band, The Culture Bandits, are an international collective group of musicians and friends with a love to rock and a passion to connect with listeners. This album is their effort to cross individual, cultural and religious barriers and honor the creativity and freedom of music. Emanating original folk artists such as Joni Mitchell and Bob Dylan, classic country songwriters such as Johnny Cash and George Strait, and rock performers such as Creedance Clearwater Revival and the Eagles, the sounds of „Open Hearts“ is energetic, sweet, and rockin’.

A prominent line from the titling song on the album is this: “Open Hearts hold so many scars.” And in facing the reality of pain in love, Sanna releases her debut album with hope for more to come.
