Today I will unbox and use the Lectron Portable Level 1 J1772 EVSE. It is super compact and great for emergency charging on a NEMA 5-15 or 5-20 which are found everywhere in North America. I tested this with both my Fisker Ocean and Tesla Model 3.

There is no LCD display on the EVSE. If you want to adjust the amps, you need to do that in the car. For a NEMA 5-15 outlet, you can select up to 12 Amps. For a NEMA 5-20 outlet, you can select up to 15 amps.

Coincidently, Fisker released their branded Level 1 EVSE today (1/12/24). At $229 for the Fisker unit, i think the Lectron is a better deal. It also offers 15 A when connected to a NEMA 5-20 outlet.

As with most of my videos, you can play at 1.5X speed if you wish. It is intentionally slower for showing process, aiding auto captioning, and non-English viewers.
