Altice is a professor of medicine, epidemiology and public health at Yale University with joint appointments at University of Malaya in Malaysia, University of New South Wales in Australia and Sichuan University in China. He conducts biobehavioral research at the interface of infectious diseases and substance use disorders and has introduced innovative implementation strategies for HIV prevention in a number of contexts like the U.S., Eastern Europe and Central Asia, Southeast Asia and Latin America and for a variety of key populations like PWID, MSM, TGW and adolescents. He directs a collaborative implementation science center in collaboration with Yale and University of Malaya and has Fogarty training sites in Ukraine, Peru and Malaysia.
