The Australian Government is assisting these businesses through the National Workforce Development Fund.

The fund helps businesses address current and future workforce development needs. It is part of the Australian Government Skills Connect initiative, which links industry with Government to support workforce planning and development.

The fund operates on a co-contribution basis, allowing Government and employers to demonstrate a shared commitment to employee training.

The fund is designed help businesses lift their productivity, provide Australian workers with the opportunity to increase their skills through formal training, and assist areas of the economy where skilled workers are needed the most.

The fund uses Australia's network of Industry Skills Councils to bring together employers and registered training organisations to address the skills needs of Australian businesses.

Funding is available for all industries and applications can be submitted at any time.
