Surrogacy is an arrangement, often supported by a legal agreement, whereby a woman (the surrogate mother) agrees to bear a child for another person or persons, who will become the child's parent(s) after birth.
Surrogacy may be either traditional or gestational, which are differentiated by the genetic origin of the egg. Gestational surrogacy tends to be more common than traditional surrogacy and is considered less legally complex.
In some cases couples can’t have a child even after evaluating most of the options available. One of the options for such couple is surrogacy.

Surrogacy is required by those couples where the female is not able to bear a child in her womb.
Another woman then carries the child term and delivers it for the couple.
What is a surrogate mother?
Gestational surrogates: A technique called “ in vitro fertilization (IVF). Now makes it possible to gather eggs from the mother. Fertilize them with sperm from the father.
And place the embryo into the uterus of a gestational surrogate.The surrogate then carries the baby until birth. She doesn’t have any genetic ties to the child because it wasn’t her egg that was used. A gestational surrogate is called the “birth mother”.
Who uses surrogates ?
If you’re a woman, you may consider a surrogate for several reasons.
Medical problems with your uterus.
You had a hysterectomy that removed your uterus.
Conditions that make pregnancy impossible or risky for you such as severe heart disease, if you tried but couldn’t conceive.if you tried with any assisted reproduction techniques, such as IVF
