A MYRIAD WAYS TO LOVE | Piano Arrangement | Mohamed Abouchadi

Hello everybody,
Today is a quite special day as I'm releasing my 1st video on Youtube, and not just a random one ! I've been working on the following arrangement for the past few weeks and it was a splendid experience since it may be considered as one of my first compositions ever. It goes without saying that I'm very excited about making the 1st step, and I hope that the musical universe I aim to create will resonate with each one of you.

The whole piece is essentially based on a sequence of 4 seventh chords in harmonic E minor, developed in arpeggios during the first part then played in a groovy style starting from 1:13. With a relatively easy left hand, I had a little bit more freedom with the right one ((or that's what I'm trying to convince myself of as I still need to develop my skills... XD)), making the melody more catchy. As you heard, we can clearly distinguish 2 main movements ; the 1st one being as romantic and lovey-dovey as what the artwork title evokes. But still, my inner child tends to prefer the 2nd one for its sensational melody (you can definitely perceive the influence of anime opening themes there hahaha). The transition between the two was fun to develop because it had 2 functions : define a clear separation and progressively build the musical tension (around 1:20). After that, the melody simply explodes as the climax has been reached. And for all the curious souls who would be wondering to what the title refers, feel free to interpret as you see fit 😜😜.

To keep it short, composing is a very subtile art that is as fascinating as complex and there is still a long way to go but hey, we gotta begin somewhere at some point. I hope you enjoyed this reading, at least, as much as the performance itself ; I find the explanation of the process behind every single note very rewarding !
