Match 8 of GT20 Canada Season 1 saw these two sides going head to head against each other for the first time in the tournament.

Put in to bat first, the Vancouver Knights posted a modest total of 166/6 on the back of a brilliant knock from Rassie van der Dussen who scored 83 of 56 balls. Lasith Malinga was the leading wicket-taker with 3-41 and Sandeep Lamicchane with an economical spell of 1-19.

Montreal Tigers lost 2 quick wickets at the start of their chase after which Moises Henriques and George Worker tried to build up a partnership but they failed to capitalize on their start. Tim Southee and Saad bin Zafar took 3 wickets apiece and restricted Montreal Tigers at 148 all out.
