Creating The Best Men's Facial

Skin Perfect's Jaclyn Peresetsky walks you through a step-by-step men's facial. Men's Facials are increasing in popularity as men seek really good skincare treatments. Jaclyn shares all of her best secrets for creating the best men's facial.

Step 1: Cleanse & Degrease
Cleanse skin with Skin Perfect Enzyme Sal Cleanser and wet 4x4 gauze pads. Remove any residue with a warm steamed towel. Degrease the skin with Skin Perfect Preconditioner and a 2x2 gauze pad.

Step 2: Microdermabrasion
You can use crystal-free or crystal microdermabrasion. Use vertical strikes starting at the forehead when doing microdermabrasion. Avoid going over active acne or sensitive areas. After a full pass over the entire face is complete, go over the face using horizontal strokes. If your client did not shave his bearded area on the day of treatment you can gently go over this area in the direction of the hair growth. Dust off crystals once microdermabrasion is complete.

Step 3: Enzymes with Steam
Apply Skin Perfect Blue Tidal Enzyme with a brush. Steam for 7 minutes (optional hand and arm massage can be performed during the steaming time). Remove enzymes with a warm towel.

Step 4: Extract and/or Spatula
Choose an ultrasonic spatula and/or extractions to unclog pores.

Step 5: Chemical Peel
Apply either 30% Mandelic Acid or 10% Salicylic Acid separately or layer depending on skin concerns. We chose salicylic acid due to the client’s acne congestion and to reduce oil and inflammation. Use a 2x2 gauze pad in even pressure strokes.

Step 6: Oxygen or Cryotherapy
Choose a skin therapy to calm and cool the skin. Oxygen or cryotherapy works best to reduce inflammation after a chemical peel.

Step 7: Mask
Apply the Skin Perfect Skin Soothing Mask with a brush or your fingertips to calm and soothe the skin. This gel mask has aloe and cucumber to hydrate and balance the skin.

Step 8: Remove Mask and Post Care
Remove the mask with a warm towel and apply Skin Perfect Skin Recovery Hydrator. If the facial is in the evening, do not apply sunscreen so they do not have to wash before going to bed. If the facial is during the day, use a lot of Skin Perfect Oil-Free Sunscreen.
