Anandi Ram Das is famous as Bonkonwar, made contribution towards augmenting the Assamese song with his Bon-geet and Modern Assamese Song. His pen reflected the feelings of common people and also depicted Nature in all its bounty. Using rural words of Assam, pure Assamese words and folk tunes made his lyrics a new lebel or genre and also popular among the common masses.

This song Piu Piu Piya - A modern Assamese song is penned by Anandiram Das and tuned by Anukul Nath. The song was recorded by Anukul Nath in the lebel of Senola Gramophone Records and released in the year 1945. This popular melody of pre-independence India, now re-recorded by Dipalima Dowarah Chaliha, An All India Radio approved Artist and presented by Umananda Gramophone Record Museum and Research Centre of Umananda Dowerah.
