140 Year Old Dog

Black Forest carved dogs are amongst the most collected pieces from the 1880’s. Obviously they come in varying qualities, but generally the bigger pieces like this Spaniel Dog Black Forest stick stand are of a higher grade. Being this size, they were only made by the top craftsmen. This particular carved dog dates to around 1880 and is absolutely the top of the pile when it comes to quality, colour and condition…he’s as good (actually better) today than he was when he was first carved. The patination has developed naturally over 140 years and he’s as good as you could even hope to buy.
