Hey Legendary Hunters welcome to the #20 episode of Monster Hunter Rise. It is time to officially meet a monster from Monster Hunter Tri I have faced countless times. The Mane Contender of the Royal Ludroth. This happens in the Key quest Spongy Oasis. We also use the Meowcenaries for the first time.

To start I craft some new armor the head to the buddy hub. Here I check the Cohoot nest and get some more buddies. With the added buddies I start for my first time the Meowcenaries to gather more materials. Now I then go to Hinoa and accept the side quests Flooded Forest, Small Monster: Slaying, Large Monsters: Hunting, Monsters: Wyvern Riding, and Gathering Plants. We also unlocked the Flooded Forest Sub-camp security quest to slay 8 Wroggi.

Now it is time to Start Spongy Oasis and get the Royal Ludroth, after eating some Dango first. As always I try to take care of the side quests first. Small Monster: Slaying will complete when we slay the 8 Wroggi who can be found on the upper path of Area 9, and in Area 11. We then go and hunt the Kulu-Ya-Ku in the area. Once we mount it for Wyvern Riding we use the chicken to damage the Royal Ludroth before taking it out.

The Royal Ludroth is probably the monster I faced the most in Monster Hunter Tri. So I have a better idea of it's patterns and attacks. Keep an eye out for when it curls it's tail in to the body, this will damage you and be followed with a tail swipe. If it turns to the side it will side check you. If you are behind it and the Tail goes up it will tail swipe you. If it raises up on it's hind legs it will shoot bubbles at you, charge or charge and shoot bubbles at you so be prepared. If he jumps back get out the way for it will charge. Finish fighting and congratulations you have unlocked the sub-camp by slaying wroggi and completed Spongy Oasis.
