Описание к видео Harnessing AI for Smart EV Charging Management by Ehsan Mokhtari

With introduction and Q&A by Dr. Windhya Hansinie Rankothge.

As #EV adoption grows, reliable charging infrastructure is crucial. This presentation explores Spark OCPP, ChargeLab's AI-powered initiative that transforms Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) data analysis. We'll examine how Spark OCPP's algorithms tackle charging system complexities, from diagnosing issues to identifying patterns. The talk will highlight the research behind integrating AI with OCPP logs to empower stakeholders with actionable insights. We'll also discuss Spark OCPP's potential to evolve with changing EV charging technologies.

Ehsan, a former student of this center (CIC), has taken a notable path in Canada's tech industry since his move from Iran in 2010. He started on a PhD program in Cybersecurity with Dr. Ghorbani, and actively participated in academic and industrial initiatives in the center. In 2013, Ehsan co-founded Sentrant Security with Dr. Ghorbani and two other students, which was later acquired by Nielsen (an S&P 500 company) in 2017. Founding Sentrant Security not only underscored his business acumen but also paved the way for him to be the first recipient of Canada's Startup Visa program for permanent residency.

Following this success, Ehsan co-founded ChargeLab in 2020, where he has built a company of 70 employees with his co-founder. His leadership style is deeply rooted in empowerment, focusing on individual strengths and diverse perspectives to foster professional growth and drive breakthroughs in the market. Ehsan was recently named one of the top Canadian executives by the Globe and Mail for 2024. Ehsan's commitment to creating impactful solutions and nurturing high-performing teams keeps him inspired to work with academic and industry partners to advance the Canadian startup ecosystem.
