Ana de Armas and Tom Cruise’s highly anticipated movie Deeper has reportedly been put on hold — and not just because of behind-the-scenes drama. According to reports, the production delay follows both their recent breakup and new tariffs imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump on films made outside the country.

🌊 The film, which tells the story of an astronaut’s journey to explore the ocean’s depths, was already in pre-production before things came to a halt.

A source told Us Weekly that the romance between Cruise and de Armas began during their intense underwater training, describing it as “a deep professional respect that turned into something more.” However, it was Ana’s decision to call it off — feeling things were “moving too fast.”

Despite the split, insiders claim the two still “have a connection” and may “see how things go in the future.”
