📌 The Ancient Theatre of Miletus. Aydın, Turkey. Built in the 4th century BC, it was expanded in the Hellenistic period and took its present form during the Roman period. It is in the form of a semicircle with a diameter of 140 meters, the audience seating places on the south side of the hill. From the upper floors of the theater, four ports of the city can be seen. The capacity of the theater which was 5300 people in the Hellenistic period was increased to 19000 people during the Roman period. The surviving parts of the stage and the galleries between the floors keep the theater atmosphere largely alive.
