Giant Anteaters Take a Bath

Описание к видео Giant Anteaters Take a Bath

We have two giant anteaters and two bath tubs, so Tapas usually takes her warm bath alone. This time though, her mate, Kaboom, wanted to join her! 🛁

💧The long claws on their front feet help them to dig for ants and termites, but they also make an excellent weapon when defending themselves against predators, such as jaguars. When threatened, they will rear up and slash with their sharp claws. While you see these two occasionally petting and pushing each other, they're actually being quite gentle!

💧Giant anteaters are found in parts of Central and South America, and they dwell in wetlands, grasslands, and tropical forests. They enjoy the water and are actually very good swimmers!

💧They rarely drink, but instead prefer to get their water from the foods they eat and from moisture left on plants after a rain.

💧Giant anteaters have no teeth! They have a long tongue that can be up to 2 feet long. It's covered in a sticky saliva to help them slurp up insects, and it can flick in and out of their mouth around a 150 times per minute!
