Leucoderma is a rare condition in which white patches appear on the skin. These patches are a partial or complete loss of skin pigmentation.

Vitiligo is a condition that causes white patches on certain sections of skin. And skin cells in the body are determined by cells called melanocytes, which produces melanin and #melanin gives color to the skin. The reason for this disease is unknown but it is an autoimmune disease. It occurs in the body when the immune system attacks tissue and organ within the body. Exposure to chemicals in beauty products are causes vitiligo. It appears before the age of 20, and after 20 years of age, it can occur due to stress, diabetes, thyroid, and chemical imbalance.

There are two types of vitiligo :
1. Segmental vitiligo
It appears in a segmental pattern, tends to stay in one side of the body.

2. Non-segmental vitiligo
White patches often appear on both sides of the body.

It can be prevented by taking a vaccine. If it is genetic then vaccination is advised. A patient must avoid using chemical products on skin and protection from UV rays as well as a patient include foods high in vitamin A.
