Out of the Margins: Curatorial Approaches to Fiber-Based Art | ISLAA Live

Описание к видео Out of the Margins: Curatorial Approaches to Fiber-Based Art | ISLAA Live

The Institute for Studies on Latin American Art (ISLAA) invited art historians and curators Julia Bryan-Wilson and Lynne Cooke to discuss curatorial approaches to fiber-based art. Previously marginalized in art history, institutions worldwide have recently reexamined textile practices through ambitious exhibitions. Bryan-Wilson and Cooke discuss this change through presentations and a conversation moderated by Anna Burckhardt Pérez, curator of “Threads to the South.”

This event was organized in conjunction with the ISLAA exhibition, “Threads to the South.”
