Qatar Al Shamal Sound expedition: The Old Cistern

In February 2024, my family and I embarked on an expedition to Qatar's northern region, a journey we fondly named "Al Shamal Sound Expedition." Over several days, we meticulously recorded captivating audio experiences from this part of Qatar. Today, I'm sharing with you a snippet of the ambient sounds we captured at an abandoned farm—an old cistern that whispered stories of the past.

Using cutting-edge equipment like the Ambeo Sennheiser microphone and the Rycote Cyclone, we delved deep into the essence of the cistern's ambiance. Additionally, we connected a geofon from Lom to the cistern, allowing us to blend the unique sounds emitted by this historical structure seamlessly into our recording.
