Welcome to the latest episode of Adhoc cars! Today, I am thrilled to share with you some exciting highlights from the building process of the Porsche 934 RSR in the iconic Martini livery. In this 1st part you will be able to get familiar with sanding, and priming process along with adding decals. This particular car holds a special place in history, having been driven by David Betts in 1977 on the legendary Portimao circuit.
Let's start with some fascinating facts about the Porsche 934 RSR. Initially equipped with a turbocharged 3-liter engine producing 485HP, its power was later increased to a staggering 550HP. With acceleration times under 4 seconds, this car was truly a beast on the track. Over its remarkable 23-year career, the Porsche 934 RSR secured an impressive 72 victories, with 58 second-place finishes and 49 third-place finishes. In an astonishing 23 races, the 934s even claimed all three podium positions. Talk about a winning record!
As a beginner in scale car modeling, I must admit that this project posed quite a challenge. Tiny decals, like the delicate fender lines, required utmost precision to apply without tearing. Some parts didn't fit perfectly as expected, and achieving a glossy finish over the decals took extra effort. I wouldn't recommend this kit as a first attempt at scale car modeling. It demands significant preparation time and a great deal of patience. But you know what they say: the more challenging the kit, the more satisfying the finished product. And I must say, I'm quite pleased with the result. It doesn't look bad at all!
In the video description, you will find a list of the materials used for this project, as well as the Tamiya paints that were employed. I hope you enjoy watching the process unfold and appreciate the final outcome as much as I do. Sit back, relax, and let's dive into the world of scale car modeling together!
