This classic transitional machine from Olympia was sold only from 1961 into 1964. Its mechanical innards are most closely related to those of the SM3 and SM4, while its bodywork presages that of the long-running SM9. This was the last carriage-shifted big portable from Olympia, and it's one of my favorite typewriters.
