Eid Mubarak in advance to everyone. Like always, back with some desserts and pastry recipes that you can try this festive season and enjoy with your family. Most of this prepared from scratch to make use of the ingredients lying in my fridge and pantry.

Crinkled cake

Phyllo sheets - 2 at a time and as much as it fits in your baking tray
Butter/Ghee - 1/2 cup or more if needed
Pistachios - 1/4 cup
Egg - 2
Milk - 1 cup
Vanilla essence - 1 tsp
Lemon zest - of one lemon

Sugar syrup
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp

Baklava big bites

Phyllo sheets - a whole batch
Ghee - 1/4 - 1/2 cup ( pour 3 spoons on each slice
Crushed pistachios - a tsp for each
Melted chocolate - for garnish

Sugar syrup
Sugar - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Lemon juice - 2 tbsp

Bake in preheated oven at 190 degree celsius for 30 minutes or until golden brown

Ma’soob

Wheat pita bread/chapathi/paratta - 2 cups crumbled
Cashews - a handful
Raisins - a handful
Butter - 3 - 4 tbsp
Banana - 4
Honey - as per the sweetness you need
Fresh cream /. Whipped cream - 1 cup
Dates - for garnish

Instant Milk Cake / Instant Tres leches Cake

Evaporated milk - 1 cup
Sweetened condensed milk - 1 cup
Fresh milk - 1.5 cup
Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp
Bay leaf - 1
Cinnamon stick - a small piece
Saffron - few strand

Vanilla cake - slices as much needed for your tray

Whipping cream - 2 cup
OR
Whipping cream - 1 cup & whipping powder - 2 sachets
Crushed walnuts or pistachios - for garnish

Puff pastries with orange custard

Puff pastry sheets - 6
Sugar - few to sprinkle

Orange custard :
Milk - 1 cup
Vanilla Custard powder - 2 tbsp mixed with milk from the 1 cup taken
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Orange zest - of 1 orange

Sugar - 5 - 6 spoons
Cinnamon powder - 1 tbsp
Powdered jaggery - 2 tbsp
